THE FLAVOR WAVE
We really enjoyed this delightful pairing of our renowned Truffili di Pellegrini Dark Chocolate Passion with Rhone wines, Grove 45 Olive Oil and delicious cheese!
A bit of cheese drizzled with olive oil, a bit of bread dipped in olive oil, a bite of Dark Chocolate Passion, a sip of Rhone wine … the wave of salty, grassy, sweet, fruity just continues … like a fine melody…Try it!
Grove 45 Olive Oil:
A bit of bread dipped in Grove 45 Olive Oil is a deliriously delicious mouthful! The olives come from the organically farmed Storm Olive Ranch in Napa Valley CA, and are a blend of 75% Tuscan varietals and 25% Sicilian varietal. This outstanding oil is fruity, deep green, grassy, peppery, and fresh! It comes in a unique brushed aluminum container with an embossed pewter label. It will look beautiful on your kitchen counter! Owners, Bonnie Storm and Nena Talcott have a great thing going on here! Place Grove 45 Oil beside your box of Truffili Dark Chocolate Passion and you’ll be ready to enjoy a unique tasting experience!
As the French say, voila!
Norman Medina of Draeger’s Blackhawk wine picks!
Chateau Mas Neuf, Costieres De Nimes, 2007
A classic Costieres from Syrah (45%), Grenache (25%), Mourvedre and Carignane (15% each), done in 10% used barrels. Tender and rich in the mouth with plush black cherry and cassis fruit, notes of brown spice, pepper, and Provencal herbs. Versatile, delicious, and dangerously inexpensive.
Mas De Boislauzon 2007 Chateauneuf-Du-Pape
“According to the Wine Advocate: The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape, a big time sleeper of the vintage, is well-worth buying. The finest traditional Chateauneuf produced at Mas de Boislauzon, it boasts a saturated ruby/purple color as well as a spectacular nose of licorice, black raspberries, black cherries, and lavender, and an exquisitely full-bodied, multidimensional and layered wine with not a hard edge to be found. Tremendous depth, beautiful freshness, and admirable purity suggest this 2007 will evolve for 12+ years. Readers should move quickly to secure some of this fabulous bargain.”
